Molly

This is my baby, Molly. She is an American Saddlebred mare. She is 25 years old and has many health problems (hypothyroidism, arthritis, diabetes, cushing's disease) but she is still kicking! I've had her for 12 years so we are pretty attached! We used to train and show pretty heavily back in her prime and despite the occasional bareback ride, she is enjoying the rest of her life being a fat, happy pasture horse!

Eating some treats...carrots...yum!

Horseshoe Canyon Ranch

This past week was our first annual Arens Family (plus Melissa) Vacation at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch in Jasper, Arkansas. It was a girls only trip and we had so much fun!! It was a jam packed week with horseback riding, hiking, rock climbing, zip line riding and rapelling. Other activities included target practice (I shot a rifle and a hand gun!), archery and swimming. I absolutely loved sitting on one of the porches watching the horses graze 350 acres of beautiful countryside. Being there made me even more anxious to begin our dream of having something similar (but much smaller)! I don't think any of us wanted to leave!

Lunch at steak and shake before driving to the ranch

My cousin, Katie, my friend, Melissa and me on the front porch of our log cabin.

Me and Lopez, my horse for the week.

Lopez and Fabio (Melissa's horse)

One of the other horses that Melissa and I loved to watch in the pastures. Isn't she beautiful!

Melissa rock climbing...she's a natural!

One of the many beautiful views!

I can't wait to go back!!

Weekend at the Lake

We spent the weekend with Jacob's dad, Barry, at his house at the Lake of the Ozarks. It was a fun and relaxing weekend on the water.

Toula is a natural swimmer and loves the water...

...but Howdy (Barry's bulldog) may be scarred for life!!
