Anybody want a kitty??

So, most of you all know that I am a sucker for stray animals. I've probably taken in dozens of stray dogs and cats and have either found their homes or found new homes for them. There's just something in my heart that won't let me turn my back. Well, I've been feeding this stray cat for about 2 months now and just within the past few weeks, it has really started to become comfortable around us and Toula. I've already taken it to the vet twice for an exam and vaccinations...it's a 5-6 year old declawed, neutered male and he is perfectly healthy. The vet said that either he got out of the house and then got lost or he was kicked out when his previous owners moved...how mean! He is just the sweetest little thing with the best personality. I would keep him (he gets along great with Toula) but Jacob is severely allergic. So, if anyone wants an indoor kitty who is really cute and sweet...I've got one who needs a good home.

She's 6!

Toula had her 6th birthday on September 22nd. She got a lovely new collar that has flowers on it...a little more feminine than her black studded one she's had for 4 years. She got a new toy--a hedgehog...she loves getting new babies. And she got her favorite treat--BBQ chicken, with candles! When we found her 5 years ago at a gas station in Westport in Kansas City, I had BBQ chicken in the back seat of my car. I had made it for Jacob for dinner that night and he was taking the leftovers home for the next day. We tried to get her to come to us for the longest time but she was too scared...finally, she came to us for the chicken. We scooped her up, took her home and she's been glued to my side ever since. I love my baby so much!!

I LOVE FOOTBALL SUNDAYS

Jacob and I went to our first Chiefs game of the season last weekend. They ended up winning despite how terrible they played. Regardless of how good or bad they are, KC fans will always represent! Jacob and I always have a blast at the games and it always gives us so much pride to live in the greatest city in the U.S.--Kansas City.

Finally

Jacob found out his results today from his Pharmacy Law exam that he took a week and a half ago...he passed...he's finally a licensed pharmacist!! After hundreds of exams over the past 6 years, he never has to take any more (except if we move to another state--then he'll have to take that state's law exam)!!! I am so proud of him!

Roots 'N Blues 'N BBQ Festival

Downtown Columbia came alive this weekend for the first (maybe annual) Roots 'N Blues 'N BBQ Festival. I'm pretty sure the entire city of Columbia and all the surrounding areas were there! It was fun to see so many people from the past that I hadn't seen in years. Jacob and I ran into the owners of D&H Drugstore (where I'm doing my clinical rotation this month) and they gave us VIP passes to a media tent with free drinks, beer, ice cream and food!! We felt very important...there were even guards outside the tent...It was awesome!!

Labor Day Weekend

We spent Labor Day weekend at the Lake with my parents, Jacob's dad and the three dogs, Toula, Anook and Howdy. Jacob took his Pharmacy Law exam this past Saturday and I just finished my first clinical rotation, so it was a nice weekend to relax, have some fun and not be stressed out. Plus, what family outing would be complete without the dogs...it's crazy how much they are loved!

Toula watching Jacob and Barry check the trot line...she is absolutely intrigued by fish!!
