Viva Las Vegas--Part II

Luxor:
Very cool hotel/casino. We saw Carrot Top, the comedian. He was the best one either of us have ever seen. We both highly recommend him if you get the chance to see him. Hilarious...we were rolling the whole time!

MGM:

They had this great lion exhibit. They had three lionesses who were all sisters...so cute!
Paris:
I LOVED the Eiffel Tower. The hotel is kind of in the middle of the strip so the Eiffel Tower looks so beautfiul at night. We rode up to the top of the tower and saw an amazing view of Las Vegas. A little scary...but overall so awesome. The hotels don't look as significant from way up there.
A view of the inside of the Paris casino.
A view of the strip from the top of the Eiffel Tower. The picture didn't turn out so great but still a neat view.
Planet Hollywood:
AWESOME hotel! It is really hip and modern. I think this is where we will stay next time we go to Vegas. They have the best shopping too...Miracle Mile Shops...150 shops and 70 restaurants. It is affordable too, not those designer stores.
We ate at La Salsa Cantina...yum! This margarita was my favorite!
This "Champion Burrito" was Jacob's favorite! We love mexican food!
Not long after, the margarita is gone! It was good:)
Mandalay Bay:
We went to the Shark Reef at this hotel on our last morning. Jacob loves this kind of stuff and it was well worth the $32. They had such beautiful displays and habitats for all the animals. Very cool! The M&M Store:
Everything and anything M&M! We also got to learn how M&M's are made. Pretty dang similar to how pills and tablets are made!

They had little displays set up with M&M's. This one was my favorite. If you can't read what it says on the chalkboard...it says, "I will not melt in the hand!"

Random:
Even the Walgreens sign is neon!

Just goofing around! (I believe this was after the margarita!)
It was a great trip...after 4 1/2 days though, we had had enough of Vegas...we were ready to get back home!

Quick Update

4 down, 3 to go!! I just finished up my 4th rotation. I was at the VA hospital here in KC working in the anticoagulation clinic. It was pretty boring but I learned a lot so that's what matters! It was fun being in the same hospital as Jacob. We drove to work together and ate lunch together in his office. It was fun to see him at work doing what he does. When we would be walking around the hospital in our white coats, we'd look at each other and think "are we old enough to be doing this." The answer: yup, we're grown ups! I just still see us as two kids goofing off...not two adults with very adult responsible jobs. Since he is a resident, he had certain lectures that he had to give to the students (me) so it was kind of weird being the student learning from him!! He was not allowed, however, to come to my presentations. I think that I would have just laughed the whole way through them if I had to look at him in the audience! Anyway, I am super excited to only have 3 rotations left!

Viva Las Vegas!!!

The ASHP pharmacy convention was in Las Vegas this year. Jacob had to go for his job and for interviews he set up for next year but I went along for fun! He had six interviews with hospitals for his second year of residency starting next summer. Here are some of the highlights from our trip.
Bellagio:

I'm sure everyone knows about the famous Bellagio fountains. They are so much more impressive in person. Pictures do not even come close to how awesome this is. It is absolutely mesmerizing!!

Me in front of some beautiful fountains outside the Bellagio.

The ceiling at the Bellagio...amazing!

They had this amazing Christmas display. Everything is just so elaborate and extravagant in Vegas. It was beautiful!

Caesar's Palace:

This was a beautiful hotel too. They had great shopping...very high dollar though...way too expensive for us!!

New York, New York:

This hotel is designed like the skyline of New York. The inside feels just like your walking down the streets of New York City. They also have a roller coaster that goes around the outside the the hotel. We opted to skip that though!

They also had a tribute to 9/11. On that day, people treated this area outside the hotel just like the memorial in New York City. People brought flowers, cards, etc to this site.

The Venetian:

Beautiful Italian design...one of my favorites!

Jacob wasn't quite sure about this statue! (It was a real person!)

Jacob with a Blue Man Group display. (These were not real people!)

The Wynn:

Another one of my favorites! (oh, who am I kidding...they were all my favorite!)

More Vegas pictures to come!! Get ready for MGM, Luxor, Paris and much more!!!
