OUR NEW HOUSE!!!!!!!

Hello all!!! I know, I know, I've been absent from the blogging world for several months!! We've just been going through a lot of stuff and have had to a lot of thinking and I think that I just went into a slumber mode where I really had to focus on me and my family and get everything sorted out and make sure we were making the right decisions! Sorry! Well, A LOT has happened in the past few months! Where to begin?? Well, after several interviews and MUCH deliberation, we have decided to stay in KC! Florida is just too far away, Columbia is a little too close and we didn't really want to get used to a whole new big city like St. Louis (even though the job for Jacob at Barnes Jewish hospital was fabulous). So, Jacob took an awesome position at the KC VA hospital as their oncology/hematology pharmacy specialist. He won't have to work any weekends and he will have a set schedule from 7:30 to 4 everyday! He finishes up his residency this coming June and he starts at the VA shortly after that! He is really ready to be done being a resident! In March, I was promoted to a manager's position of one of the pharmacies in my company. I am slowly easing into it. There is a lot more business stuff/reports/money issues I've had to learn how to do and I am slowly learning how to manage people! It's tough being the boss and it definitely has it negatives, but I have found myself really liking it:) And just a few days ago, we put our current house up for sale and and signed the papers on a new one!!! We are so excited!! We just started looking around about a month and a half ago and this was one of the first houses that we saw! I absolutely fell in love with it. It is at the end of cul-de-sac in a cozy neighborhood with lots of families and children. The area has nature trails, 400 acres of conservation areas, walking/running trails through the neighborhood, lakes etc... We looked at close to 30 houses and our hearts kept coming back to this house! We close the middle of June and I can hardly wait! We are just busting at the seams in our house now and I can't wait to spread out and buy new furniture!!!! I have loved our current house but as my mother in law says, "it's time to move on!"
Well, that's all for now! I hope this lets you all know that I'm still alive and well! I will really try to be more consistent! I will for sure post pictures of the house as we move in!!

25 Random Facts about ME

I know, I know...it has been months since I have posted anything. I don't have an excuse except that I just haven't been in the mood. Things here are crazy as usual. I honestly haven't taken a picture with my camera since probably November. As you all know, we may or may not be moving to another city this spring/early summer so we are in limbo right now. It's not the best feeling. It's really hard to plan when we don't know what's going to happen. It's just been a really weird couple of months. But I finally created my Random Facts list for my Facebook friends and so here it is below too. Enjoy and I hope you learn something about me that you didn't already know.

1. I cannot imagine my life without my husband, Jacob. He is my rock.

2. I absolutely cannot drive a car with shoes on. No matter what kind of shoes I have on, they have to come off when I drive.

3. I LOVE animals. I have picked up dozens of stray animals. I just can’t turn my back. I have either kept them as my own or found homes for them.

4. I am addicted to Diet Coke…no joke, I get headaches if I don’t get a hit.

5. I have watched Days Of Our Lives for 14 years. I DVR it every day. Some of my other favorites: American Idol, Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance.

6. I have problems with my blood sugar. I have passed out several times in the past when I was younger before I knew how to handle it.

7. I love days off when I just get things done and feel so productive.

8. My husband and I found our dog, Toula, at a QuikTrip gas station in Westport. See #3. I love her SO much.

9. I hate, hate, hate cleaning dishes.

10. Riding horses is my passion. It is so freeing and relaxing to fly through a field completely in tune with a horse.

11. I love being a pharmacist in a retail pharmacy but at the same time I hate working in a retail pharmacy.

12. I own the series DVD set of Friends. I have watched the entire series from beginning to end at least 6 times.

13. Every Friday night, my husband and I have what we call Fiesta night. He makes a Mexican feast complete with homemade tortilla chips and margaritas and we watch Kath and Kim and The Office. I know, boring married people.

14. I have a hard time forgiving myself. I hang on to things that I have done in the past that I am not proud of and can’t let go.

15. I have to have a candle burning any time that I am at home. I just think the smell and the look of a flame is so relaxing.

16. I miss my girlfriends that I was so close to before I went to pharmacy school.

17. I can cry anytime, anywhere, about anything.

18. I am ready to have children.

19. I regret not having a good relationship with my brother when we were growing up. It’s getting better as we are getting older.

20. I hate being chased. It totally freaks me out…even when I know that it is my husband who is chasing me. I also hate being cold and being lost.

21. I can sleep just easily as I can cry. Pretty much, it’s my favorite pastime.

22. I don’t eat meat except for my husband’s chili, a really good steak or Kansas City BBQ.

23. I have 2 closets and 2 dressers full of clothes but I have nothing to wear.

24. My husband is twice my size and I like it.

25. I could eat queso dip with tortilla chips and French fries for every meal.

Toula is 7!!!!

Wow, I can't believe my little baby is 7 years old and what I can't believe even more is that it's been 6 years since I found her at that gas station and scooped her up because she stole my heart!!! This little mut is so incredibly important to me and Jacob!!! She makes me happy every day and is always there to hug, snuggle with or bring a smile to my face. She is my baby and I love her!!!
Toula's new toy from daddy.

She also always gets a grilled BBQ chicken breast because that's what I used to coax her to me at the gas station. It's a HUGE treat and it's gone within seconds! She also got a few other new toys and some yummy treats! She deserves it:) It's hard being a good puppy! Her halloween shirt from Mommy. It glows in the dark! This is the way she eats her food: tips the bowl over with her paw and scoops it into a pile with her nose and then eats it off the floor. Very rarely will she actually eat it out of the bowl!Snuggling with Mommy. This is most recent animal to benefit from my crazy obsession to help all animals in need. We have named him Magic. He is a pretty special little kitty. We are trying to find a home for him where he can be an inside kitty but for now he is the newest addition to our family.

Treads And Threads

A few weeks ago, Jacob and I had the honor of going to a black tie affair! It was called Treads and Threads and it was a benefit to raise money for cancer treatment and research. It was in the center of the track at the Nascar speedway here in KC. We went with a large group of Jacob's co-workers from KU. First, we met at a co-worker's house for pre-party cocktails, then we all piled into a van and had a DD drive us out to the Speedway. There was so much food and drinks and dancing!!! All of the finest restaurants in KC catered the event so we got to sample all the places we have never been able to afford! It was the latest night we have had in many years and we were not feeling too well the next day but it was SO much fun!!!

Trisha Yearwood was the entertainment for the night as well as a dancing band from Florida.

My Little Family:)

The two most important things in my life:) (Plus Miss Molly, of course!)

Golf Galore

A few weekends in August and September were spent watching my dad play in golf tournaments in Sedalia. It's only about an hour away from KC so it's been fun just going over for the day and bopping around the golf course in a golf cart and spending time with my parents. Here are just a few pictures from those weekends. I am really enjoying have my time off be actual time off to do things I want to do instead of spending my time off studying! Dad's team came in 2nd in the first tournament but him and his partner, BJ, won 1st place at the second...YAY!!!Dad and BJ. They have been best friends for YEARS and have played in countless tournaments together.
BJ and his daughter, Bailey

Mom and Dad:)
I think the plaid shorts are cute!
Dad and BJ's mom, Bobbie Jo
BJ's family--Bailey, Stacey and Bobbie Jo

My dad and Bailey. This picture makes me think about when I was that age and Dad trying to teach me how to play golf. I spent SO many hours on golf ranges and courses...wonderful memories! Me and my dad.
