GARTH BROOKS!!!!!!

So if you know me at all, you know that I love country music and that my whole life I've wanted to see Garth Brooks. So when I heard he was coming out of retirement and performing in KC, I had to go. I talked my mother-in-law into standing in line to get tickets for me and Jacob. She was given a number and then her number was the first to be called in this HUGE crowd of people!!!!! We had seats in the 9th row!!! Are you kidding me???? When the first concert sold out in minutes, he kept adding shows until everyone who wanted to see him got tickets. There ended up to be 9 shows and 159,000 people had tickets! Our show was even broadcast live in theaters around the country and taped to be shown on Great American Country TV channel. It literally was one of the best nights of my life!! I mean, I saw Garth Brooks in concert!!! How cool is that??? I couldn't talk the next day and I only got a few hours of sleep before work but it was SO worth it!!!

Packers vs. Chiefs

Jacob and I go to several Chiefs games and we already had tickets to the one against the Green Bay Packers but as a surprise, Jacob and I bought tickets for my parents too. Having lived in Wisconsin for 15 years, everyone in my family is a huge Packers fan. Here are some pictures from the amazing day.

The game started at noon but we started tailgating at about 8 am. The day started off with playing some catch with the football in the parking lot. Classic tailgating fun!

There was lots of food...chili, brats, burgers, all the fixins' and lots of yummy snacks!

My parents...aren't they so CUTE! A Busch Light in Dad's hand...the only way I know my dad!!

Me, Jacob and my dad

Sitting around talking, eating and drinking...so much fun! My uncle also got tickets so he brought along my brother, Quinn. It was great to have everyone there.

Quinn, my dad, me and my uncle Bret

I love my dad!

Getting the chili nice and hot...yummy!

I had to support KC even though much of my heart was with the Packers! (ssh, don't tell Jacob!)

The Man, The Myth, The Legend...BRETT FAVRE!!

Touchdown, KAN-SAS CITY!!! Larry Johnson drops into the endzone for a touchdown...too bad they lost. But I was so happy for the Packers and my parents...they were so excited they got to see Favre kick some Chiefs butt!! It was the perfect day!!

Gone Fishin'

We had an unseasonably warm weekend a few weeks ago so Jacob and I took advantage of it and headed out to James A. Reed lakes for the day. He did a lot a fishing, I took a lot of pictures and Toula did a lot a swimming. She is so intrigued by fish! We packed lunches and spent the whole day outside...it was so refreshing. I daydreamed the whole time wishing that the land was ours...maybe someday.

Elton John

For Jacob's birthday, his mom gave us Elton John tickets at the Sprint Center. The Sprint Center is a new world class stadium that just opened here in KC. Elton John was the first event in the new facility so it was really cool to be a part of it. We got downtown early, walked around a bit, ate a really chic restaurant and then went to the concert. And Elton was terrific...I was amazed at how talented he is. He played for 3.5 hours straight! It was a great night...I felt like I was on this really cool date with a hot guy! Lucky for me that hot guy is my husband:)

Anybody have a good cat name??

This is from a few weeks ago, but oh well! This is the same kitty that I have been trying to find a home for. He's taking a nap on our deck in the back yard. I didn't realize how difficult it is to find a good home for a cat. It looks like he'll be staying for a while. He has become pretty accustomed to us and Toula. So I suppose if he stays for a while, we'll need to start calling him something other than cat or kitty...anybody have any good names. I was thinking Tigger but that's not very original.

Sorry!!!!

I am so sorry that I haven't blogged. I have been a crazy woman lately...so much going on. I do have lots to blog about but just haven't uploaded the pictures or had the time to sit down and do it. So to assure everyone that I haven't dropped off the ends of the earth, this is a picture of a new bottle of body wash that I got. I thought the bottle was pretty! I haven't used it yet because I'm still finishing up another one but I'll let you know how it is then you all can run right out and get it. I PROMISE to get some more interesting stuff up soon. Love you all!!
