Prayers, please!

Hi ya'll. My boards are coming up soon and I'd appreciate some prayers! I'm about to drive myself crazy from all the studying. It seems like when I study something, something else leaves my brain...there's just not anymore room in there!! Pray that I can control this anxiety!! It literally is making me sick...I came down with an ear infection/upper respiratory infection a couple of days ago...thank God that I got into the doctor this evening for an antibiotic before the weekend because I need the weekend to be productive! Anyway, I would really appreciate it! God brought me to pharmacy school, I know he'll carry me through to the end! I'll blog more when it's all over! Wish me luck:)

GRADUATION!!!

This was 2 weeks ago but I am just now getting some spare time to blog about it. So sorry for the delay.

Dinner and Banquet at the Uptown Theatre

Friday night we had a dinner and banquet downtown with my class and our faculty and professors. They gave out awards and showed a slideshow with pictures from the past 5 years. It was a great night with friends and drinks!

Graduation Ceremony

Only a few members of my family came to the ceremony on Saturday afternoon.

I don't know how she sat through lectures and exams being pregnant and how she got through rotations with a baby at home...but she did! We both got Magna Cum Laude honors. We pretty much sat next to each other through every class!!One of our professors, Dr. Marken. She was a great mentor to both Jacob and me throughout school.

Kettle, Pharm.D., May 10th 2008.She also gave me a Coach purse...I LOVE Coach purses! Jacob gave me another black and gray Coach clutch...it's wonderful!!My aunts, uncles and grandparents gave me a matching ring and necklace set that has diamonds and pink sapphires in it...beautiful!!My parents gave me this beautiful cedar chest. It's black and it has all these compartments in it...I love it! They are also giving Jacob and I a grandfather clock when we have our next house. Our house now is a bit too small for one now.

It was a fantastic weekend! I am so excited to be done! It feels so good! Thanks to my wonderful husband for being my rock all the way through school...getting each other through pharmacy school made us so strong as a couple. And to my family, their encouragement and support has been unbelievable! I will never be able to repay them!!

Now it's on to finally having a career!! I am ready to be a pharmacist!! But first things first, I still have to pass Boards!! Wish me good luck!

DAVID COOK!!!

So, I have been a HUGE American Idol fan since season 1 with Kelly Clarkson so when David Cook, from the wonderful city of KANSAS CITY (what, what!!!), was in the top 24, I became even more addicted. I knew from the very beginning he would go all the way and HE DID!!! Hats off to David Cook. SO proud to have an American Idol represent KC!!!

Dr. Elizabeth Kettle, Pharm.D.!!!!!!

It's official...I'm finally a Pharm.D. The weekend was packed with banquets, family, graduation and partying. I had an absolute blast and I'm bittersweet about being done but I'm ready to start the next chapter in my life. I am absolutely exhausted and don't have all the fun pictures yet so I will post the weekends happenings later this week. Whew...big sigh of relief...I can't believe it's over!

I Love Spring!!

Last weekend, Jacob and I took advantage of the nice weather and took Toula to James A. Reed park where you can fish, hike, horseback ride, hunt, etc... We went hiking down one of the trails. Toula absolutely LOVES the water and the first sight of it, she jumped right in. It was so nice to get out and do something active and enjoy the warm weather!! Here are some pictures.

Also this week, our good friend, Stuart passed through KC on his way from New York City to Vegas. Every year a group of the guys take a trip to Vegas. Jacob has never been able to go because of school/residencies. Stuart's girlfriend, Jane came with him to KC but flew back to NYC instead of going to Vegas...guys only!! A group of us went out for a fantastic BBQ dinner at Oklahoma Joe's and then came back to our house to hang out.

It was a long week...not too exciting. I just have "senioritis" (if you can call it that...I'm a senior 4 times over!) SO bad!! I'm done on Wednesday! I can't wait!!

Random

These are all totally random but I think they are cute.

We got Toula a new bed for her room becuase she has had the old one since we found her 6 six years ago so needless to say, it was pretty grungy. I had the old one on the sofa for a few days and apparently Toula was sad we were getting rid of it. She laid it her old one on the sofa and wouldn't get in the new one!! She's so incredibly set in her ways!

She's so talented! She's getting better about tossing it up off her nose and catching it but she still hasn't mastered it yet.

The next few pictures are of Jacob and his new driver that he recently got. This is the first time I went out to see him hit it. There were a few humdingers but for the most part he hits it really well!

There is not much exciting going on with us right now...just finishing up school and residencies and starting new jobs and residencies. Probably the next pictures I put up will be of my graduation!!!!!!! YEAH!!

10 DAYS LEFT

So, I know that it has been forever since I posted anything lately but I've been super busy FINISHING UP SCHOOL!!! That's right, I am finishing school FOREVER in 10 days!!!!! I can hardly believe it. Eight years behind me and I've got 10 days for the rest of my life to be a student. That's 30% of my lifetime that I have spent as a college/graduate student! Come April 30th, I will officially be DONE with school...HOORAY!!! Graduation is on May 10th and you better believe that there is going to be some celebrating and partying going on...I absolutely cannot wait!!!

I promise that I will post some pictures soon...I've got some cute pictures of Toula to put up and of Jacob hitting his new golf club. Stay tuned:)
